Star Volunteer of the Year

Nominations are now being accepted for volunteers exemplifying Crossing Rivers Health values. The “Star Volunteer of the Year” award will be presented to individuals during Volunteer Appreciation Week in the following categories:

  • Compassion
  • Unity
  • Joy

Nominations must be submitted by Friday, March 31, 2023.

Star Volunteer of the Year Criteria

The “Star Volunteer of the Year” award will be presented to 3 individuals.

  • You may nominate up to one volunteer for each category
  • Each nomination should include the name of the nominee and the reason why you feel the nominee should be selected for the appropriate category with examples of the individual demonstrating those qualities in the chosen category.
  • Nominations must be submitted by Friday, March 31, 2023.

Star Volunteer of Compassion

  • Fosters a friendly and caring environment where the patient, visitors and fellow volunteers come first and where courtesy and sensitivity to the feelings of others thrives.
  • Expresses concerns, empathy and listens while acknowledging others ideas and concerns.

Star Volunteer of Unity

  • Easily builds relationships with individuals and groups.
  • Makes a consistent effort to encourage trust and cooperation, and frequently takes a leading role in fostering a positive and productive team spirit and in discouraging gossip.
  • Always has a positive outlook and pleasant manner.
  • Values diversity, accepts others.
  • Stimulates teamwork and good attitude in others.

Star Volunteer of Joy

  • Serves as a role model by skillfully using joy and humor to improve the workplace.
  • Has a unique talent for gauging the situation and finding the right moment to interject something funny, using humor in an appropriate manner being mindful and respectful of other’s feelings.
  • Knows when a particular story or joke will be effective.
