The Toshiba Titan MRI scanner in the new Medical Center offers increased patient comfort along with several features and advancements not available on mobile MRI systems.
The MRI scanner is quieter than other conventional MRI units, allowing for a better patient experience and increased comfort. It also features a wider opening to help alleviate claustrophobic fears that some patients encounter.
With the exception of head MRI's, most types of scans can be done feet first into the scanner. This allows for a patient's head to remain outside of unit.
The sophistication of the MRI unit allows for decreased use of contrast agents injected into a vein. Studies that once required the use of contrast to highlight vascular anatomy may no longer require contrast agents to be used, due to the sophistication of the new MRI unit.
