December 21, 2012 was an eventful day in the Obstetrics Department, New Beginnings, at Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital. A baby boy was born, 12/21/12, at 12:21 p.m. Amanda Beane of Prairie du Chien was the proud mother of the hospital’s newest patient on that day. Amanda said, “When I arrived at the hospital at 4 am, I said that I would have my baby at 12:21, and that my dad will make it happen! My due date was 12/12/12, and now, it is quite remarkable that my son was born on this date and time.”

Amanda named her newborn son Hartley Raye in memory of her father, Raymond Hartley. Hartley weighed 7 lbs. 6.2 ozs. and measured 21 inches. Hartley will be welcomed at home by his older brother Mason. Dr. Martin Oates, Mayo Clinic Heath System-Prairie du Chien, and Chief of Staff at PDCMH was the attending physician.

Pictured with Amanda and her newborn son are the nurses that assisted Dr. Oates with the delivery: Justine Peloch, RN; Cheri Korywchak, RN; Katie Simmons, RN; and Amy Hird, RN. Justine and Amy observed and assisted during the delivery as part of their training in the Obstetrics Department.
