Candlelight Memorial gave families a time to reflect and remember

The first annual Crossing Rivers Health Hospice Candlelight Memorial was recently held at Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. “The memorial service honored individuals being cared for by Crossing Rivers Health Hospice, who passed away since August of 2014. The public was invited to attend to remember these individuals, as well as to reflect on and remember all those we have lost over the years,” explained Haley Schroeder, Hospice Social Worker.
The Candlelight Memorial included an emotionally moving arrangement of candles with name cards of loved ones who have passed on. There was time for prayer and reflection in the Crossing Rivers Heath Meditation Room. Reading materials on grief and the holidays were available to support families through the upcoming Christmas season. The evening continued with a memorial video, refreshments, and time for fellowship.
Powerful emotions were sensed throughout the evening. The memorial was well attended with many hugs and kind words exchanged as family members looked upon their loved one’s name and candle. The Crossing Rivers Health Hospice team wishes to thank all who attended this special evening of remembrance.
