Center for Specialty Care Grand Opening Event a Success
Prairie du Chien, WI—The ribbon is cut, and the Crossing Rivers Health Center for Specialty Care is now open to patients in a new, expanded location on the second floor of the Crossing Rivers Health Medical Center in Prairie du Chien. Upon completion of the construction of the medical center in 2015, space was left unfinished on the second floor, and reserved for future growth opportunities. In June of this year, Crossing Rivers Health began the work to finish this space, which now is home to a growing list of specialty care providers available through Crossing Rivers Health, including Urology; Orthopedics; Gynecology; ENT; Podiatry; Allergy and Asthma; Sleep Medicine; and Behavioral Health.
“We’re proud to be able to fulfill the region’s need for access to specialty providers close to home,” said Jenny Pritchett, Chief Nursing Officer at Crossing Rivers Health. “The ability for our organization to recruit experienced, board-certified specialty providers to our rural medical center is due, in part, to Crossing Rivers Health’s reputation for both quality and patient satisfaction. It also demonstrates our commitment to serving the health needs of our region.”
Pritchett added that Crossing Rivers Health will continue to explore bringing other specialty providers to the Center for Specialty Care. “By increasing the region's access to more specialists, patients and their family members can enjoy less travel time and expense, as well as the convenience of high quality, specialized care in a state-of-the-art, patient-centered environment.”
More than 200 attendees toured the newly completed specialty care area at a grand opening event held in late November. Those who attended had the opportunity to meet a number of the specialty providers, as well learn about some of the latest technology through hands-on experiences, including Robotic-Assisted Surgery and Telemedicine.
