Prairie du Chien, WI- January 30, 2015- The City Council for the City of Marquette Iowa, recently pledged a generous gift to the Crossing Rivers Health Foundation’s capital campaign. In honor of their residents, Marquette city leaders pledged to contribute $15,000 to help to build the new state-of-the-art medical center in Prairie du Chien, which will serve the people of Northeast Iowa and Southwest Wisconsin.

The City Council expressed their support of the organization, as well as their delight in the hospital’s name change from Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital to Crossing Rivers Health. “It’s certainly a hospital our residents utilize, and the name change makes it more inclusive of the area the hospital serves,” said Norma Mason, Marquette Mayor. Jason Winter, Mayor Pro-tem noted the importance of a strong community hospital, “My perspective is probably not unlike most Marquette residents; when my family needs medical care, I want to go to a quality, up-to-date facility.” Winter added, “It’s not only important to have access to quality healthcare close to home, but the medical center provides great economic impact for these communities as well.”

Sasha Dull, Foundation Director said, “We are honored to have the support for the new medical center from our friends in Marquette. Gifts like this are so meaningful as they affirm the fact that, regardless of community and state borders, strong partnerships form around the shared vision for excellent healthcare for generations to come.”

Many area individuals and corporations have stepped forth to support the new medical center project, slated for completion in the spring of 2015. Naming and recognition opportunities are still available. To-date, the campaign has raised nearly $1.3 million in capital gifts and pledges.
