Crossing Rivers Health Fennimore Clinic Offering Free Diabetic Screenings in November
Fennimore, WI - In recognition of Diabetes Awareness Month in November, Crossing Rivers Health Fennimore Clinic will be offering free glucose screenings the entire month of November.
“1 in 3 adults in the United States has pre-diabetes,” shared Brian Quick, Board-Certified Physician Assistant at Crossing Rivers Health Fennimore Clinic. “Some symptoms of diabetes include often feeling tired, frequent urination, sudden weight loss, wounds that won’t heal, always feeling hungry, blurry vision, numbness in the hands or feet, and frequently feeling thirsty. This free screening in November is the perfect opportunity to take a proactive approach to your healthcare and have your glucose checked.”
“A diabetes screening is a blood screening test to measure blood sugar levels,” added Dr. Kenneth Valyo, Board-Certified Doctor of Osteopathic Family Medicine at the Clinic. “We will be performing a glucose test when you come in, which is most accurate if you are fasting 8-12 hours prior to testing. We’ll be able to discuss results with you at that time, along with any other questions or concerns individuals may have.”
In addition to Brian Quick and Dr. Valyo, Terri Payne, Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Certified Nurse Midwife, sees patients at the Fennimore Clinic. Brynn Junk, Registered Nurse, and Carrie Barker, Certified Medical Assistant, assist the providers with patient care; and Jamie Glasbrenner, Clinic Business Associate, assists patients with scheduling and registration. The Clinic team is passionate about providing full spectrum family medicine services for all ages, including obstetrical and post-natal care. Appointments to receive the free screening or to schedule a primary care appointment can be made by calling 608.357.2500. Same day appointments are often available and walk-ins are always welcome. The Crossing Rivers Health Fennimore Clinic is located within the Health Science Center on the Southwest Tech campus. Hours include Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Clinic is open to the public and designated patient parking is available in front of the Health Science Center.
