Hospice of Crossing Rivers Health receives $45,000 in program support
Contact: Sasha Dull
Year after year, donations to the Crossing Rivers Health Hospice program are the most frequently received contributions collected by the Crossing Rivers Health Foundation. According to Sasha Dull, Director of the Crossing Rivers Health Foundation, “There is a deep appreciation for the high quality, compassionate care delivered by our Hospice staff. That appreciation is regularly demonstrated through financial contributions to the Hospice program, which go directly to help cover costs not totally reimbursed by Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance plans.”
The Crossing Rivers Health Foundation collected more than $45,000 for the Hospice program in 2018 through memorial gifts, fundraising events, and campaigns. Those funds were recently released to cover the unreimbursed costs for Hospice medications, medical supplies, and equipment. Dull shared, “Ultimately, these contributions ensure the hospice program remains viable in our communities.”
“Hospice has had the honor to serve people in the communities of Prairie du Chien, Waukon, Monona, Guttenberg, and beyond, for more than 35 years,” said Laura Lane, Hospice Manager. When a cure is no longer likely and length of life is limited, Hospice focuses on the total needs of our patient and their family. The Hospice care team of professionals includes physicians, nurses, nursing aides, social workers, and volunteers. “We are proud to provide patients with comfort and dignity by serving the medical, emotional, and spiritual needs of our patients and their families,” Lane said.
