Crossing Rivers Health names Employees of the Year and other Award Recipients

Bill Sexton, Chief Executive Officer at Crossing Rivers Health, announced the recipients of the 2014 Employee of the Year Awards during their annual recognition event. Krista Zimmerman, Director of Materials Management, was named Supervisor of the Year. During the presentation, Sexton read comments from her nominations complimenting her leadership and communication skills, her tireless efforts to keep budgets on target, her work to ensure the new clinic was stocked and ready for opening day, her continuing preparations for the new facility, and her upbeat attitude. He added, “Krista’s leadership skills are also demonstrated through committee participation and Relay For Life.” Family members attending the presentation were Krista’s parents, Steve and Deb Zimmerman; her sister, Alisha Smrcina; and Alisha’s children, Hunter and Autumn. Krista began her career at Crossing Rivers Health in 2004.

Krista Zimmerman shared, “I was totally in shock. I feel honored to have only been a director for one year and receive this award. I would like to thank all of my co-workers that nominated me. I greatly appreciate it and feel blessed to work with such great people.”

Chris Trentin, Accountant in Business Administration, was named Employee of the Year. Bill Sexton shared comments from her nominations. He read, “Chris is a dedicated employee; she is always willing to help no matter how busy she is; she has handled all the extra work with the new hospital project positively and keeps the day-to-day operations going; she is a big asset to Crossing Rivers Health; and she has such a pleasant personality and good sense of humor.”

“I would like to express my gratitude to everyone for this award,” shared Chris Trentin. “As a result of great team work and commitment, through all the many transitions in the 23 years I have worked here, our goal of quality patient care has always remained top priority. I am very proud to be a small part of that.”

Joining in honoring Chris Trentin were her husband, Tony; son, Cody and his wife, Amanda; their children Kinslee and Elsa; and Chris’s sister, Bev Masino.

During the event program, 42 employees were recognized for their significant career commitment and ongoing dedication to Crossing Rivers Health. Awards for 40 years of service were presented to Nancy Mumm and Jan Weisensale. Three employees were presented awards for 35 years of service: Rita Kazda, Jill Morovits and Becky Rooney. Employees recognized for 30 years of service were Gloria Bunders and Maria Titlbach. There were six employees that were presented awards for reaching the milestone of 25 years of service: Doreen Fish, Janice Kramer, Illene Olson, Diane Reger, Sue Schultz and Tammy Smith.

Recognized for 15 years of service were Nancy Key, Theresa Looney, Rick Peterson, Mark Seeley, Nola Suetmeyer and Randy Williams. Awards for 10 years of service were presented to 13 employees: Jeanne Aspenson, Katy Bouzek, Terry Bueltel, Lora Knott, Angie Kramer, Katy Kruger, Cheryl McCune, Ruth Peters, Brian Simmons, Deb Smith, Ansa Thomas, Tammy Thompson and Krista Zimmerman. Employees recognized for five years of service included Kay Day, Tisha Earle, Kandi Gillitzer, Brenda Jones, Peggy Kricke, Angie Manning, Brenda Nugent, Maggie Payne, Justine Sparrgrove and Amy Young.

Bill Sexton, Chief Executive Officer, stated, “I extend my sincere appreciation to these employees on their service. The loyalty and dedication of the employees at Crossing Rivers Health has allowed our organization to grow services and programs to meet the healthcare needs of the area.”
