Crossing Rivers Health Offering Premier Course for Trauma Care

Hospital news | Friday, January 17, 2020

Prairie du Chien, WI – Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien is offering the Emergency Nurses Association’s Trauma Nursing Core Course Eighth Edition, the premier course for trauma care, on March 19 – 20 and September 17 – 18. The one and a half-day course is taught by qualified emergency nurses and uses a systematic approach to initial assessment empowering nurses with the knowledge, critical thinking skills, and hands-on training to provide expert care for trauma patients. After taking TNCC, nurses will be able to systematically assess the trauma patient, intervene and/or assist with interventions, and provide evidence-based trauma nursing care within the context of a trauma team. Those who attend will learn the latest trauma nursing practice recommendations, systematic assessment and application of care, and rapid identification of life-threatening injuries.

Participants must be an RN and possess a current unrestricted nursing license to receive verification. LPNs and paramedics are eligible to attend all portions of the course except for the written and psychomotor evaluations. For this reason, they do not receive verification, but are awarded contact hours. To register, visit crossingrivers.org or contact Betsy Thorson at betsy.thorson@crossingrivers.org.
