According to Stephanie Koenig, RN, Crossing Rivers Health Infection Control Practitioner, “Crossing Rivers Health’s facilities have always had stringent infection control protocols in place, and we’ve even enhanced our precautions in light of COVID-19.”
For community members who may be interested in alternatives to in-person care, Crossing Rivers Health now offers a number of services via telehealth, including telephone and video visits. In addition to providing primary care visits, health and wellness coaching, behavioral health, sleep medicine, dietitian care, and palliative care virtually or via phone call, Crossing Rivers Health is now providing urgent care telehealth visits to treat a number of urgent health conditions.
“If you are experiencing a rash; a minor burn, cut, abrasion, or wound; a mild skin problem; an eye problem such as pink eye; a sore throat; a sprain; or a urinary tract infection, you can request an Urgent Care telehealth visit,” explains Heidi Kirschbaum, Emergency Department Clinical Services Director at Crossing Rivers Health.
Seeing a provider via telehealth is a convenient alternative to an in-person visit. Urgent Care telehealth services utilize high-speed internet or cellular data, and one of the following: smartphone - Android or Apple, tablet or iPad, a laptop, or a desktop computer with a webcam and microphone. Urgent Care telehealth visits are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. and can be requested online at crossingrivers.org/urgentcaretelehealth or by calling 608.357.2606. Crossing Rivers Health Urgent Care in-person services are available seven days a week from 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Emergency Care is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
