Prairie du Chien, WI - Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien proudly announces the addition of Andrew Wier, Orthopedic Physician Assistant, to the medical staff. He joins the growing Orthopedic and Sports Medicine team at Crossing Rivers Health, which includes Dr. Kevin Klean, orthopedic surgeon, as well as athletic trainers, physical and occupational therapists.

Wier says he strives to make sure his patients know that he values their time and makes the most of the opportunity to address their needs and concerns. “I feel that medicine is not about telling patients what is ‘best for them’. The most important part of medicine is listening to my patient's goals and helping them find their best quality of life.” Wier states, “Medicine should be a partnership between provider and patient with investment from both.”

Before joining Crossing Rivers Health, Wier worked for nearly 14 years as an athletic trainer for Beloit College. In recent years, his work was primarily in orthopedic surgery and non-operative sports medicine. “I enjoy hands-on medicine. Sports medicine and orthopedics are very much about being in contact with your patients – health history, patient stories, and goals are all very important,” Wier says. In 2021, he achieved a Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies and Kinesiology.

Andrew Wier is accepting new patients at Crossing Rivers Health Center for Specialty Care. Appointments can be made by calling (608) 357-2525. The registration team at Crossing Rivers Health Center for Specialty Care will work with patients to schedule appointments and obtain primary care referrals, if needed, to ensure that appointments will be covered by insurance.
