Crossing Rivers Health Welcomes John “Chip” Rowe, Orthopedic Surgeon

Prairie du Chien, WI - Crossing Rivers Health proudly announces the addition of John “Chip” Rowe, Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon, to the medical staff. Dr. Rowe has over thirty years of experience in treating patient of all ages. As a full-time orthopedic surgeon at Crossing Rivers Health Center for Specialty Care, Dr. Rowe is looking forward to providing a continuum of care for his patients, from consultation to surgery and follow-up appointments.

“I’m looking forward to becoming a part of the community and being that resource in the community for orthopedic care You can feel comfortable that you won’t have to travel for orthopedic care – the full spectrum of orthopedics will be available right here in Prairie du Chien and it will be provided at the highest level.”

While he performs all aspects of orthopedic care, Dr. Rowe especially enjoys sports medicine using minimally invasive arthroscopic procedures and treatment of arthritis of the hips, knees, and shoulders. He has been performing hip replacement through the anterior approach since 2008.

“I have always enjoyed the full spectrum of orthopedics,” commented Dr. Rowe. “I enjoy working with kids and people with broken bones, dislocated joints, torn ligaments, or torn tendons. I enjoy joint replacements and also provide care for trauma injuries.”

Dr. Rowe attended the University of California-Irvine on an athletic scholarship, where he competed on a national team level. He studied chemistry and graduated from the University of California School of Medicine in San Diego. He subsequently completed medical school training at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California and completed an orthopedic residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester.

“I love what I do,” shared Dr. Rowe. “I take a great deal of pride in my relationship with my patients. I practice the old-fashioned way - sitting down with my patients, getting to know them, and by looking out for what is in their best interest. I treat patients the way I would want to be treated.”

Dr. “Chip” as most of his patients know him, is accepting new patients at Crossing Rivers Health Center for Specialty Care. Appointments can be made by calling 608.357.2525. The registration team at Crossing Rivers Health Center for Specialty Care will work with patients to schedule appointments and obtain primary care referrals, if needed, to ensure that appointments will be covered by insurance.
