Free diabetes program hosted by Crossing Rivers Health Clinic – Fennimore

Crossing Rivers Health Clinic – Fennimore is hosting a free educational program, Diabetes Education 101, on Thursday, May 21, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on the Southwest Tech campus, just inside the main entrance in conference rooms 492 and 493. The program is directed to anyone interested in learning more about managing diabetes including healthy food options, lifestyle choices and medication management.

Educational presentations will begin at 5:30 p.m. Presenters include Holly Griswold, DNP; Pam Myhre, NP/Certified Diabetes Educator; and Registered Dietitian Shelby Byrnes. They will be sharing myths related to diabetes; easy, healthy food choices; medication options; and information on testing and monitoring blood sugars. There will also be free glucose checks, healthy appetizers and recipes, and drawings for door prizes.
