Free program helps plan for end-of-life wishes
Prairie du Chien, WI – In recognition of National Health Care Decision Day, Crossing Rivers Health is hosting a free community education program that focuses on planning ahead for end-of-life decisions on Wednesday, April 18 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Light snacks will be provided.

The panel of professionals include: Dr. Owen Vincent, Crossing Rivers Health Clinics; Amanda Tisdale, Attorney with Czajkowski Higgins & Rider, S.C.; Tiffany A. Bielenberg Kramer, Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer, WI Agent for Burial Agreements, Certified Pre-Need Consultant (CPC), and Certified Crematory Operator (CCO); Rebecca Hilson, CTBS, Tissue Program Coordinator, UW Organ & Tissue Donation; Alex Burns, Hospice Registered Nurse, Crossing Rivers Health; and Tara Nalepinski, Social Worker, Crossing Rivers Health.
Danielle Swiggum, RN, Patient Family Services Director, encourages area residents to attend the free community program. She commented, “Conversations about advance planning can be difficult, but it is up to you to make sure your loved ones and your healthcare provider are aware of your preferences. Individuals who are taking care of elderly family members and those who wish to start thinking about end-of-life decisions would benefit by attending. Take action now and ensure your wishes are known, and that they are honored.”
The Patient Family Services team at Crossing Rivers Health is always available free of charge to individuals seeking assistance with advance medical directives. For more information about the National Health Care Decisions Day seminar or advance directives, call 608.357.2045.
