Grief and the Holiday Season
Prairie du Chien, WI and Waukon, IA – “Grief and the Holiday Season” will be the topic of the upcoming Grief Support Groups hosted by Crossing Rivers Health Hospice in December. The next meeting dates will be December 4 from 5 – 6 pm at Veteran’s Memorial in Waukon and on December 6 from 7 – 8 pm at Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien. No registration is necessary to attend.
“After the loss of a loved one, we experience a wide variety of feelings and emotions,” shared Haley Kregel, Crossing Rivers Health Hospice Social Worker. “It is a challenging process, and we all need a support system to help us move through our grief journey.”
A support group offers companionship and understanding from others who have experienced a similar loss, and are experiencing similar challenges that living with grief brings.
“These groups are for those of us who are going through the grieving process following the loss of a loved one,” added Brittney Miller, Crossing Rivers Health Hospice Social Worker. “You have the opportunity to share feelings and experiences. If you do not wish to share anything, this is respected as well.”
The support group takes place monthly at each location – the first Thursday of each month at 7 pm at Crossing Rivers Health and the second Tuesday of each month at Veteran’s Memorial in Waukon. In addition, an Infant Loss Support Group is hosted at Crossing Rivers Health the first Tuesday of each month from 6:30 – 7:30 pm.
