Honor Loved Ones With A Light or Star at Crossing Rivers Health

Friday, November 15, 2019

Prairie du Chien, WI - Partners of Crossing Rivers Health invite the public to light up the front entrance of the medical center by honoring or remembering loved ones for the Season of Lights. Shawna Atterbury, Volunteer Services Coordinator, stated, “If you are looking for the perfect gift this holiday season, a light or star for the Season of Lights is a beautiful way to honor or remember a loved one, say thank you or get well, or as a special gesture of friendship. In doing so, you will also be supporting the health care needs of our region with a donation to Partners of Crossing Rivers Health.”

Lights and stars may be purchased through December 24th. Those purchased before December 6th will be recognized at a Tree Lighting Ceremony at Crossing Rivers Health on December 8th at 3:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend the ceremony, which will include a tribute to this year’s tree-top star honorees Ruth Mundt and Stacy Polodna. Mundt was a long-time employee of Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital from 1968-2002. She was also a dedicated member of Partners of Crossing Rivers Health since 1978. As a member of Partners, she donated and contributed countless hours organizing photos and historical documentation for the medical facility. Polodna graduated from Prairie Senior High in Prairie du Chien. He began his career working for the Prairie du Chien Police Department. He ended his career as a detective for the Prairie du Chien Police Department, protecting and serving the community. Polodna was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, coaching his daughter's softball team, camping, boating, and riding his UTV. He was known to be a great cook and loved to grill for his family and friends. He was also known for being very caring to others, with a wide-open heart when helping friends and strangers alike.

Lights and stars may be purchased online at crossingrivers.org/season. Order forms are also available at the Crossing Rivers Health Concierge Desk and local banks.
