Partners of Crossing Rivers Health Hosting Blood Drive on November 30
Prairie du Chien, WI — In response to the immediate need for blood donations, Partners of Crossing Rivers Health are hosting an American Red Cross Blood drive on Friday, November 30 from 12 – 5 p.m. in the George Family Education Center at Crossing Rivers Health. Donors of all blood types are encouraged to give blood or platelets in support of kids fighting cancer, patients with sickle cell disease and others facing serious illnesses.
“The Red Cross has a severe blood shortage. With blood products going to hospitals faster than donations are coming in, your blood or platelet donation is urgently needed now to help save lives,” explained Shawna Atterbury, Crossing Rivers Health Volunteer Services Coordinator. “Partners of Crossing Rivers Health encourage you to share your good health this holiday season and donate on November 30.”
Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. The Red Cross must collect more than 13,000 blood and platelet donations every day for patients at about 2,600 hospitals and transfusion centers nationwide.
Donating is a simple process and only takes about an hour from start to finish. New donors, regular donors, as well as those who haven’t given blood in a while can all do their important part to help patients in need. Visit redcross.org, download the Red Cross Blood Donor App or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) to schedule an appointment to give.
