In celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital’s Medical Imaging Department and Relay for Life Team, The Power of Pink, hosted Pretty in Pink, an evening for ladies over the age of 20 to enjoy pampering and health education. The event encouraged women to make breast health an important part of their lives. The evening began with Tammy Mezera, a breast cancer survivor, sharing her story followed by an informative presentation on the importance of early detection and breast cancer. Participants relaxed during the evening of pampering as they received mini manicures, hair tinsel, hand and chair massages, goodie bags, and door prizes. Participants signed a paper lantern, which was later lit and released in honor of those affected by breast cancer. The Relay for Life Team and Medical Imaging Department thank all of the businesses that supported the event to make it a success as well as volunteers and everyone who attended. All proceeds from the event, which reached $560, benefited the American Cancer Society.
