Reduce Pain with Posture Assessment

Prairie du Chien, WI – Research shows simply strengthening posture improves balance, energy levels, confidence, and stress management. A posture assessment can highlight imbalances in your body and discover solutions for problem areas.
The Occupational Therapy department at Crossing Rivers Health is offering free posture assessments on Tuesday, November 14 from 10 am – 2 pm. Appointments will take approximately 10 - 15 minutes. Members of the occupational therapy team will use a postural board to look at body symmetry, head and neck positioning, shortened and lengthened muscles, and alignment with feet, ankles, knees, and hips. Participants should bring a smart phone or camera to document photos of their posture zone.
“If you’re having headaches or body aches that just won’t go away, a posture assessment may be able to let you know what is going on with your body. The grid on our postural board is utilized to analyze what may be causing those aches and pains,” explained Javier Alvarez, Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant at Crossing Rivers Health.
