Tavern League donates to Hospice
Keith Coburn, President of the Crawford County Tavern League, has presented a check for $500 to Marsha Konichek, RN, Prairie du Chien Hospice Coordinator (right), and Sasha Dull, Chief Development Officer, at Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital. The funds were donated to Hospice with matching funds applied from the Wisconsin Tavern League Foundation.
“Prairie du Chien Hospice helps to make the end of life journey a little easier for many by providing for the physical, medical, emotional, social, financial and spiritual needs of our patients,” explains Marsha Konicheck. “Since 1980 Hospice staff members and volunteers have touched many lives in our dedication to provide comfort, dignity and hope. In many cases our patients’ needs are fulfilled at no cost, or without full reimbursement from Medicare, HMOs and insurances.”
The donation will be used to help cover the cost for services, medications, medical supplies and equipment not reimbursed by Medicare and Medicaid. Prairie du Chien Hospice serves communities in Southwest Wisconsin and Northeast Iowa. For information on Hospice services, volunteer opportunities, or to make a donation please contact Prairie du Chien Hospice at 608. 357-2000.
