The Crossing Rivers Health Foundation’s 9th Annual Golf Classic kicks off this week, beginning Wednesday, September 16 and ending at noon on Friday, October 9. The event is being hosted virtually this year, with teams submitting their scores in real-time, as they play through the holes at the Prairie du Chien Country Club.

For this virtual event, the Foundation has partnered with Golf Status, an online golf tournament scoring app available for download on Android and Apple devices. Sasha Dull, Chief Development Officer at Crossing Rivers Health shared, “We feel it’s safest to not proceed as usual with the one day gathering- since these times continue to be anything but usual.” She added, “As opposed to canceling the Golf Classic fundraiser, we’ve come up with a new virtual format and have extended the event to run over approximately 24 days. Once registered, each team can schedule a tee time that is convenient for them by calling the Prairie du Chien Country Club.”

The Foundation’s Golf Classic offers a fun way for golfers and non-golfers alike to support their local community hospital and invest in cancer care close to home. Dull said, “Our reason to play remains, because there are still people in our communities who are battling cancer and who benefit from receiving their treatments locally.” Proceeds from this year’s Golf Classic will help to purchase equipment and patient comfort items needed for the expansion and enhancement of Oncology services at Crossing Rivers Health.

The tournament is flighted, with prizes awarded for first place, 2nd and 3rd flights, and to the last place team. The Golf Classic is also a best ball, or scramble, format making it enjoyable for golfers at all levels of skill.

Sponsorships are still available and teams are able to easily register online. Learn more about the event by visiting www.crossingrivers.org/golf or by calling 608.357.2140.
