Volunteers are key members of healthcare team at PdC Memorial Hospital
“Every day millions of Americans give freely of their time and talents to ease the lives of others, aid those stricken with illness or tragedy, and serve the needs of others in countless ways. Through their efforts, volunteers build better communities and a stronger nation,” says Mary Mara, Volunteer Coordinator at Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital. “The week of April 21-27 is National Volunteer Week; an excellent opportunity to salute the volunteers that touch our lives with every role they serve in our organization. Our team includes our Hospital Board of Directors, Foundation Board of Directors, over 100 Partners, over 45 Hospice volunteers, and many other individuals that volunteer at Family Resource Center, Walter Schmidt Assisted Living, C.A.R.E., and other departments in our organization. From serving in a leadership role, to delivering flowers, to running errands for a Hospice patient, to making toys for young patients, to manning the reception desk, to assisting with fund-raisers–our volunteers make a big difference.”
