Crossing Rivers Health’s Infant Loss Support Group is again holding a local Wave of Light event, which coincides with the globally recognized Wave of Light, held in memory of babies gone too soon.

The Wave of Light event will be held on Saturday, October 15 at Crossing Rivers Health. Emily Wetter, Social Worker at Crossing Rivers Health shared, “Anyone interested is welcome to attend this in-person event, regardless of when their loss occurred. We welcome families or individuals who have experienced the loss of an infant at any stage, including miscarriage, stillbirth, or in infancy- recently, or even 30 years ago.” Wetter added, “We invite you to join other families across the world by lighting a candle at 7 p.m., to remember all babies who lit up our lives for a short time.”

Participants may enter the Medical Center main entrance on Saturday evening, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Community members unable to attend in-person are welcome to join the virtual Wave of Light by taking a photo of your candle and posting it to Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram using #WaveOfLight at 7 p.m.

Wetter helps to lead the Infant Loss Support Group, which meets the first Tuesday of every month at Crossing Rivers Health, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. She noted, “This support program is for parents experiencing pregnancy loss, stillbirth, or infant death— no matter the time frame.”

The Infant Loss support group is a safe space to discuss grief and feelings, as well as learn how to effectively move forward. To learn more about the event and the support group, visit
