Biography

Education and experience

I provide all aspects of orthopedic care and am fellowship-trained in orthopedic sports medicine. During my fellowship with Detroit Medical Center Sports Medicine, I served as an assistant team physician for the Detroit Tigers, the Detroit Red Wings, and the Detroit Pistons. I also served as a team physician for the Janesville Jets, members of the North American Hockey League, and has provided care for various high school teams.

My goal is to thoroughly explain orthopedic conditions, and their associated treatment, to my patients in a language they can clearly understand, so we can work together as a team to make an informed decision based on their lifestyle and personal goals. I ensure my patients are actively involved in their care. I only resort to surgery when non-operative treatment options have not provided adequate relief or quality of life. Conservative, or non-operative management, is the appropriate treatment for most orthopedic conditions, and surgery is considered a final option.

If surgery is determined as the best option for you, our team is proud to offer minimally invasive techniques and the latest surgical advancements combined with exceptional patient care. Using advanced surgical technology, we have the ability to use computer-assisted navigation during joint replacement procedures. Another option we can explore is creating patient-specific surgical implants that allow us to create a replacement that is designed specifically for that patient using a CT scan to build custom components and guides. In addition to these joint replacement technologies, we are proud to offer minimally invasive procedures whenever possible, which means they are performed through tiny incisions that allow for quicker recovery time and less pain than traditional open surgery.

On a personal note, I am married with two boys and two Great Danes. I enjoy spending time with family, sports, especially football and baseball, and outdoor activities.
