Malachi Shaw is Crossing Rivers Health’s First Baby in 2017
Elisabeth and Douglas Shaw of Mt. Sterling, Wisconsin, rang in the New Year looking forward to the arrival of their 4th child due the second week in January. Their excitement grew when the big day arrived early on January 3rd, and their beautiful newborn son was the first baby of the year at Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien.
The Shaw’s named their son Malachi Gilbert Shaw. The newborn tipped the scales at 10 lbs. 13 oz. and he measured 21 inches long. The delivering provider was Terri Payne, Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Certified Nurse Midwife Crossing Rivers Health Clinic.
Welcoming Malachi home was his brothers Kolten (4) and Micah (1) and his sister Kylee (2). Proud grandparents include Jon and Stacy Petersheim of Rising Sun, Ken and Tina Kirschbaum of Lancaster and Kurt and Denita Shaw of Arizona.

The Shaw’s shared that their birthing experience at Crossing Rivers Health was positive. Elisabeth commented, “This was our first delivery at Crossing Rivers Health, and everything went well. This is a beautiful hospital. We enjoyed the good food and great view. We even watched a deer browsing through the field from our large window.”
