The Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) conveys an evidence-based approach to care of the newborn at birth and facilitates effective team-based care for healthcare professionals. The course content provides curricula for advanced providers who may participate in neonatal resuscitation beyond positive-pressure ventilation.
Learners enrolled in the NRP Advanced Provider Course must complete an Online Learning Assessment (OLA), an instructor-led skills evaluation, and a simulation debriefing experience.
Audience: For any healthcare professional caring for neonates or newborns at the time of delivery.
Prerequisites: Before class, learners must complete the NRP Essential and Advanced OLA, along with a survey. The OLA comprises two parts: Essentials (chapters 1-4) and Advanced Learning (chapters 5-11).
The OLA must be completed less than 90 days before the instructor-led skills evaluation. If the OLA is completed more than 90 days before the instructor-led skills evaluation, a learner will not be allowed to participate in the instructor-led skills evaluation.
