Crossing Rivers Health Offers Monthly Grief Support Group
“After the loss of a loved one, we experience a wide variety of feelings and emotions,” shared Haley Kregel, LMSW, CAPSW, Social Worker at Crossing Rivers Health. “It is a challenging process, and we all need a support system to help us move through our grief journey.”
A support group offers companionship and understanding from others who have experienced a similar loss and are facing the challenges that living with grief brings. Grief Support Groups hosted by Crossing Rivers Health take place on the second Tuesday of every month from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. in the George Family Education Center at Crossing Rivers Health, 37868 US Hwy 18, Prairie du Chien.
Attendees may enter through the Crossing Rivers Health Main Entrance and proceed straight ahead, toward the dining room—the George Family Education Center is located on the left.
“These groups are for those of us who are going through the grieving process following the loss of a loved one,” added Brittney Miller, LMSW, CAPSW, Social Worker at Crossing Rivers Health. “You have the opportunity to share feelings and experiences. If you do not wish to share anything, this is respected as well.”
Meetings have a planned program but remain flexible to meet the needs of those in attendance. Support groups allow participants to connect, share, and find comfort in a safe, understanding environment.
