The Crossing Rivers Health Foundation is proud to recognize Leah Bulman, BSN, RN, C-EFM, as the most recent recipient of the Dr. Roger C. Rademacher Memorial Scholarship for Clinical Excellence.
Bulman, a Registered Nurse in the Obstetrical Department at Crossing Rivers Health, recently obtained her certification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring from National Certification Corporation. Bulman shared, “I have seen first-hand why this certification is the gold standard of the labor and delivery world. This certification has helped me better understand the pathophysiology behind fetal distress and abnormal heart rate patterns. With this knowledge, I have been able to accurately interpret electronic fetal tracings and predict when fetal well-being may be compromised. In these situations, I have been able to intervene appropriately and efficiently to prevent negative health outcomes for multiple patients. It has been rewarding to provide input and share my knowledge with patients and members of the OB team.”
The intent of the Dr. Roger C. Rademacher Scholarship is to provide financial support in the form of a grant to clinical professionals employed at Crossing Rivers Health, who are working to obtain certification or further their formal education or degree. The grant provides assistance to allow for the advancement of clinical skills.
Sasha Kozelka, Chief Development Officer and Foundation Director shared, “We are honored to provide this scholarship to selected Crossing Rivers Health employees, in memory of Dr. Roger Rademacher. We are proud to have Leah on our healthcare team and look forward to supporting her through other accomplishments in her career here at Crossing Rivers Health.”
Countless rural clinical professionals have benefited from the leadership and mentoring of Dr. Roger C. Rademacher. Dr. Rademacher was killed in a traffic accident in January 2009.
