Crossing Rivers Health Welcomes Two Providers to the Primary Care Clinic Team
Crossing Rivers Health Clinic in Prairie du Chien proudly announces the addition of two new providers to their primary care clinic team in October of 2024. “We are so excited to welcome Steven Perkins, Board-Certified Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, and Physician Assistant, Certified, Sara Winters, to our team,” said Maria Mathis, Clinic Director. “They are both highly regarded providers, coming from the Waukon and Lansing, Iowa area,” Mathis explained.
Sara Winters, PA-C, earned her Bachelor of Arts from Wartburg College and her Masters of Physician Assistant Studies from Des Moines University. Sara provides care for people of all ages. Her services include family practice, preventive medicine, acute and chronic disease management, and women’s health. Specializing in musculoskeletal and spine health, Sara is a dedicated member of both the American Academy of Physician Associates and the Wisconsin Academy of Physician Assistants. Sara said, "My goal for each patient is to help them to live a long and healthy life physically, mentally, and emotionally."
Steven K. Perkins, DO, holds a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, a BA in Biology from Central College, and a medical degree from Des Moines University. He completed his Family Medicine Residency at Broadlawns Medical Center and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine. Dr. Perkins cares for all ages and emphasizes a healthy lifestyle, good diet, exercise, and overall well-being. He believes in a holistic approach to health, saying, "Love your neighbor. Food is medicine. Exercise is medicine. Sleep is medicine. Nature is medicine - and, medicine is medicine. My job is to work with you and these tools to find your best self and your best health."
Mathis noted, “Being able to provide our patients’ access to providers who are rooted in our communities and whose philosophies align so well with the mission of our organization, we have a lot to be thankful for.”
