Biography
Steven K. Perkins, DO, holds a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, a BA in Biology from Central College, and a medical degree from Des Moines University. He completed his Family Medicine Residency at Broadlawns Medical Center and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine.
Dr. Perkins cares for all ages and emphasizes a healthy lifestyle, good diet, exercise, and overall well-being. He believes in a holistic approach to health, saying, "Love your neighbor. Food is medicine. Exercise is medicine. Sleep is medicine. Nature is medicine - and, medicine is medicine. My job is to work with you and these tools to find your best self and your best health."
Shared Prenatal Care:
Steven Perkins, DO, will provide shared prenatal care up to 36 weeks, working closely with your primary healthcare provider to ensure you receive comprehensive and coordinated care throughout your pregnancy. This approach allows for regular monitoring of both your health and your baby’s development. After 36 weeks, your care will be transitioned to the provider overseeing your delivery, ensuring a smooth and supportive experience. Dr. Perkins will also offer postnatal care, helping you navigate the recovery process and adjust to life with your new baby.
